From the Cayuga Light Up Night and Parade Committee

The Cayuga Light Up Night and Santa Claus Parade group, which is a committee of the Cayuga Chamber of Commerce, wishes to acknowledge the great people of Haldimand for making the night of Dec. 7 such a great event for children of all ages.

Thanks to all the Parade participants for making this years’ parade the biggest to date.

Thanks to Paul Mc Clinchy for organizing the parade.

Thanks to Haldimand County and Cayuga Chamber of Commerce for sponsoring our event.

Thanks to the choir from St. Stephen’s School for their commitment to come out every year.

Thanks to the Gentlemen of Harmony for their great voices. This was a first for them to sing for us and we hope they come back again.

Thanks to Isabella Hoops for her participating in our parade as the Snowflake Princess, she lit up the night. Then she did an amazing act of twirling hula hoops and flames bars. Isabella has agreed to come back next year.

Thanks to the parishioners from the Christian Fellowship Church for making the very tasty chilli and cooking and serving the hot dogs and hot drinks.

Thanks to Springer’s Meats for donating the hot dogs.

Thanks to Shelly’s Restaurant for making the hot chocolate.

Thanks to Bertha Soltesz for heating the cider and making the treat bags for the children.

Thanks to No Frills for donating the clementine’s.

Thanks to Dunnville’s Canadian Tire for donating the hot chocolate

Thanks to Grant Burgener for being the MC for the night.

Thanks to Elizabeth Racicot of Sterling Frames Photography for taking all the pictures of the children with Santa

Thanks to Kelly and Sam Stephan decorating the new tree stands.

Thanks to volunteers who helped set up and decorated the Village Green Park. Ann and Tom Baldwin, Kelly Stephan, Reesa Spitman, Ruth Corlis, John Edelman and Dennis Pine, Ralph and Charmaine Corlis.

Thanks to the great enthusiast committee, for organizing and making sure all things fell into place. Their hard work and dedication are appreciated by all, especially myself as I was unable to help and attend this year’s event.

Thanks to Santa for stopping by Cayuga and making the children happy. The new sleigh was a hit and the children liked to sit on it and Santa’s knee.

Thanks also to all the businesses that gave us discounts on items purchased.

Thanks to all the businesses that donated to our new pyrotechnical light show. Everyone was in awe. We will do it again next year but at the beginning.

A special thank you to the sponsors of the pyrotechnics:

This was our 25th Anniversary and we are very proud of the new decorations, and new entertainment.  It was a huge success. It was a very cold night and we know many left before the event was finished. We are making changes to our show to flow faster.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all
